Cushion Rectangle Gembone Stone Ring | Size 6-1/4

This is a beautiful polished piece of fossil dinosaur bone (gembone) with brilliant red orange colors. As dinosaur bone fossilized over millions of years, it took on the colors of the minerals around it in the soil. The webbed surface you see in the stone indicates that it was once bone.

The unique texture on the ring band was created using one of my favorite tools in my studio, my rolling mill. It's amazing the textures I achieve rolling annealed metal with bits of nature through the steel rollers of the mill. The sterling silver was oxidized and sanded to enhance the textures I created.
