Silver and Spiny Oyster Shell Hoop Earrings
These are big, beautiful 1-3/4 inch diameter hoop earrings, forged with my favorite hammer to create a nice hammered texture. I used large gauged sterling silver wire, but these hoops are lightweight with lots of movement and swing.
The entire earring was oxidized black and then polished to bring out the shiny high points, while leaving dark oxidation in the low areas. I forge all my earwires from 20 gauge sterling silver wire in a style, I feel, stays put in your ear.
Metal: Sterling silver wire
Stones: Deep orange spiny oyster shell
Earrings: Each 1-3/4 inch diameter (4.5cm)
