Summer Skies - Leland Blue and Sapphire Pendant

$375.00

The beautiful color of the necklace's centerpiece was created during the smelting of iron ore in northern Michigan during the late 1800s. Called Leland Blue, this slag glass by-product was dumped into Lake Michigan after the smelting industry failed. It's now become a northern Michigan industry of collecting and polishing this beautiful slag glass for sale.

The pendant is heavily textured front and back and oxidized dark before polishing so that the details pop.
It sits on a 3mm dark brown leather cord that includes handmade sterling silver endcaps and chain with a sturdy sterling silver lobster clasp.

Metal: Sterling silver
Stones: Leland Blue slag glass, faceted sapphire
Pendant: 3 inches long by 1-1/2 inches wide (7.5x4cm)
Necklace Length: 16 inches with 1-1/2 inch extender

The necklace will come packaged ready to give as a gift.
